“My Husband And I Were Constantly Fighting And Our Marriage Was Nearly Over, But We Eventually Found Peace Again – Mbarara Woman Narrates Her Experience”

September 21, 2026

For a long time, my husband and I looked like a happy couple from the outside, but inside our home, things were very different. I am a woman from Mbarara, Uganda, and there was a time when our marriage became so difficult that I honestly believed we were heading toward separation.

Our problems did not begin with one major incident. They started with small disagreements that gradually became bigger. We argued about money, family issues, household responsibilities and even simple things that should never have caused serious conflict.

As the arguments became more frequent, we stopped communicating properly. Whenever my husband tried to explain himself, I felt he was blaming me, and whenever I tried to explain my feelings, he felt that I was attacking him.

There were days when we could spend hours in the same house without speaking to each other. The silence was sometimes worse than the arguments because I could feel the distance between us growing.

I still loved my husband, but I was becoming exhausted. I began asking myself whether love alone could save a marriage when two people could no longer find peace together.

At one point, I started thinking seriously about leaving. I did not want my marriage to end, but I also did not know how to stop the constant fighting.

I spoke to people close to me, hoping someone would give me an answer. Some encouraged us to talk, while others simply told me to be patient. We tried several times to settle our differences, but the peace would not last.

Eventually, a friend told me about Magongo Doctors. She said they listened to people who were facing different relationship and family challenges.

I contacted Magongo Doctors and explained everything that had been happening between my husband and me. I told them how long the arguments had continued and how close we had come to ending our marriage.

After listening to my story, Magongo Doctors cast what they described as a marriage reconciliation and peace spell, which in this fictional story was intended to encourage harmony, understanding and peace within my relationship.

I decided to remain hopeful and also began paying closer attention to the way my husband and I communicated. I realised that some of our disagreements were becoming worse because we were both reacting in anger instead of trying to understand one another.

Slowly, things began to change. Our conversations became calmer, and we started discussing problems without immediately turning them into arguments.

My husband also started telling me about some of the things that had been troubling him. I realised that he had been carrying his own frustrations just as I had been carrying mine.

For the first time in a long time, we began listening to each other instead of simply waiting for the other person to finish speaking so that we could respond.

The atmosphere in our home gradually became calmer. We started spending time together again, and some of the happiness we had forgotten about slowly returned.

One evening, my husband and I sat together and talked about our marriage. We both admitted that we did not want to lose what we had built together.

That conversation became an important turning point for us. We agreed to stop allowing every disagreement to become a major fight and to communicate whenever something was bothering us.

Our marriage did not suddenly become perfect. We still have disagreements, but the constant chaos that once filled our home has reduced greatly.

Looking back, I remember how hopeless I felt during the worst period. I had already started imagining life without my husband, yet today we are still together and trying to build a more peaceful home.

My experience taught me that difficult periods can make people feel as though there is no way forward. For me, finding guidance and becoming more willing to communicate helped me regain hope in my marriage.

I encourage anyone facing relationship problems, constant misunderstandings or family conflicts to remain hopeful and seek guidance according to their circumstances. Magongo Doctors listen to people facing different relationship and family challenges and provide guidance.
