For nearly five years, Joseph Ochieng operated a small hardware shop in Kisumu. Despite working from sunrise to sunset, customers rarely entered his store. Businesses around him expanded, but Joseph’s shelves gathered dust. Every investment seemed to end in losses, and debts continued to pile up.
After discussing his frustrations with friends, he decided to consult Dr. Magongo, a traditional spiritual healer. Within a few months, sales began increasing. Contractors started buying building materials in bulk, and loyal customers recommended the shop to others. Before long, Joseph opened a second branch and employed several young people from his community.
Whenever people asked what changed, Joseph would smile and say that the traditional ceremony marked the moment he stopped living in fear and started believing change was possible. He also acknowledged that success required discipline, hard work, and wise business decisions.
Today, his hardware business continues to grow, and Joseph often encourages struggling entrepreneurs never to give up while remaining open to the cultural and spiritual practices that give them hope
